There is excitement in the Klawitters' house: Conni's parents are leaving with her little brother to visit family, but Conni is staying at home—she really wants to celebrate Semire's birthday party. Luckily, she is not alone: Grandpa Willi is looking after the children, and her friends Anna and Simon are allowed to stay over. But their cozy plans are suddenly interrupted when an injured crane lands on their property. Conni and Mau the cat take the bird, whom they affectionately name Klaus, in with great care.
